Travel writer discovers the many faces of Amsterdam

amsterdam river Amsterdam is a city with something for everybody, as travel writer Jayne Dawson discovered on her recent trip there

Jayne Dawson recently visited Amsterdam with a group of friends and found that it really is a city with something for everyone. However, the first good impression was the travel time, as flights to the capital of the Netherlands can take as little as an hour.

Once in the city, there are a few different ways to enjoy the destination. Jayne mentions one of its most famous highlights, the Van Gogh museum, as being a wonderful way to explore its cultural side. The bars, cafes and canals can also form part of a cultural tour of the city, but are just as well suited to any visitor’s stay.

It might be Amsterdam’s importance as a hub for diamond trading that appeals to you, in which case, Jayne writes, the Gassan Diamond Store will be of interest. Meanwhile, history buffs will find themselves much more comfortable in Amsterdam’s Museum Quarter.
